Tweaks for Android phones – YouTube not running

#1 Restart device

Many issues relating to smartphones were fixed when a system is restarted. It removes applications in the background that can cause the problems that you have, among others.

It takes just a minute or so to find a quick and easy solution. If YouTube doesn’t work, just press and hold the power button on your screen and focus on the restart option shown on the monitor. Open the YouTube app and check whether the problem has been resolved when your mobile restores.

Guidelines – small steps

  • On your handset, pressing and holding the power button.
  • Press on the reboot function on the display.
  • Attempt to play another Video from youtube once the system is turned on.

#2 Check your connection to the Internet

This may be because of connectivity problems why videos are not playing on YouTube. When you see YouTube not working, the first thing you should check is to see if the settings menu-Wi-Fi or cellular network is connected to the Internet. If not, you’ve simply discovered the problem. And, if you are linked, try to search Google for something to see if you have internet access.

You might be linked to a Wi-Fi network, but for several reasons, there is still no Internet connection-router issues, network activity. If you could search Google and do other web-related tasks other than browsing YouTube, the connectivity is not the issue. Here you can also learn How to Cast Videos on Chromecast from VLC.

Guidelines – small steps

  • Launch the device’s control panel.
  • Link to a Wi-Fi or network of your carrier— if you are not.
  • Play video.

#3 Update OS

There’s a possibility, though a little one, that an obsolete version of Android will lead you to consider YouTube to be ineffective. Open your device’s menu settings, click “Program updates” and if available, download the update. Be aware that the “Service changes” may be found under the “Cellphone Settings” option in the settings menu depending on your unit.

Tap the Install button and let the device start again after you have downloaded the update. Then open YouTube and see if the problem remains.

Guidelines – small steps

  • Launch your handset settings screen.
  • Find and press the “My device” tab for device updates.
  • If eligible, simply download the update.

#4 Eliminate cache and data from the device

The next patch is to empty the cache and info for YouTube. The former excludes temporary data and the latter eliminates all application data, including different configurations.

Open the device settings menu, select Apps and choose YouTube. The next step is to select “Storage” to create two choices: Clear data and Clear cache. Then delete the cache and check if YouTube is working properly now. If not, go back to the data and see if the problem is resolved.

Guidelines – small steps

  • Launch your handset settings screen.
  • Select the Apps button to choose YouTube.
  • Then choose the “Storage” and tap the “Remove data / Remove Cache” option.

#5 Verify the configuration of your time and date

Although this sounds strange, YouTube-related issues could be triggered by dates and times. If you don’t configure them accurately, servers of Google might be difficult to coordinate with them.

Tap Date & Time and make sure the “Automatic Date & Time” option is turned on. To fix this, go to your device sets. If the problem is not solved, switch to the next solution in this series.

Guidelines – small steps

  • Launch your handset settings screen.
  • Hit ‘ Date & time.’
  • Move to the alternative “Automatic date&time.”

#6 Update Youtube

If you see YouTube not functioning, the last thing you should do is to upgrade the YouTube software. To check whether an update is available, pick “My applications & games” from the menu, open the app in the Google Play Store, and check if Youtube is on the “Updates” list.

If it is, simply tap “Actualize” and wait for about a minute to conclude.

Guidelines – small steps

  • Launch the Play Store Google application.
  • Click “My software & games”
  • If an upgrade is available, press the button “update” next to the YouTube app.

Tweaks for PC – YouTube Not Working

#1 Update Chrome

Try updating your browser if you can’t access YouTube videos. You have to click the icon (three vertical points) on the right top, choose “Help” and select “About Google Chrome”. A dedicated tab will open and if an upgrade is available, just press’ Download.

#2 Internet connectivity

As with the above Android version, the root of the problem could be the internet connection. Try to search Google, or visit a random website to see whether it’s loading. If not, see the link settings to ensure all checks are done. If this doesn’t help, you could also restart the router or call your ISP. However, the search for the right fix continues when the connection is established.

#3 JavaScript

To access YouTube videos, you will trigger JavaScript. To check if it is switched on, go to the settings for Chrome, press “Advanced” below, and choose “Privacy and Security Settings.” Tap on the alternative “JavaScript” and then trigger “Allowed”

Once that has been finished, go back to the YouTube video and refresh the page to see whether the problem has been solved.

#4 Check extensions

There are many helpful Chrome extensions, but some can do more harm than good. Try playing a video in incognito mode to find out if anyone of them is responsible or not for your YouTube problems.

During incognito mode, plugins don’t work. And if you can see a video, figure out which one you built when the problem started and delete it. You can do this by choosing the “Additional Options” and tapping on the “Extensions” icon in the top right corners. This will create a page where all the extensions you are using can be disabled or uninstalled. Finally, Download Youtube Playlist Downloader on your devices to Download Youtube Videos for free.
